How your photo is handled

Photo processing

When you start a colorization or restoration, the image is transmitted to Replicate, our third-party AI processing provider, so it can generate the result. ColorizeOldPhoto does not require an account or create a personal photo library.

Third-party handling

Processing and temporary retention by the AI provider are governed by that provider's terms and privacy practices. Do not upload a photo if you do not have permission to use it, or if it contains information you consider too sensitive for third-party processing.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and product usage. Analytics storage is disabled unless you select “Allow analytics.” Your photo, filename, and written personal information are not included in our product analytics events. Google may receive device, browser, consent-state, and interaction information according to its own privacy practices. You can change your choice at any time using “Analytics preferences” in the footer.

Your choices

You can use the public pages without uploading a photo. Keep your original image: AI-generated color and detail are interpretations and may not be historically accurate.
